WOWvx Technology Explained
WOWvx technology is the engine that powers Philips three
dimensional high definition displays. It allows 3-D images to be
displayed without the need for the viewer to wear glasses.
The display is overlaid with a sheet of microscopic lenses which
project the image to either the viewer�s right or left eye so
that they are combined by the viewer into the perception of a
3-D image.
WOWvx image processing software makes use of a format called
2D-plus-depth. This uses an extra layer of coding that indicates
the depth of each pixel and is a highly efficient way of
encoding the data.
